School Accountability Report Card (SARC)

All public schools are required to prepare and disseminate annually a School Accountability Report Card for the primary purpose of providing parents and the community with data and information about each public school. The public may also use a SARC to evaluate and compare schools on a variety of indicators.

Generally the information contained in a SARC begins with a profile that provides background information about the school and its students, a summary of the school's mission, goals, and accomplishments. In addition, state law requires the following information be contained in the SARC: demographic data, school safety and climate for learning information, academic data, school completion rates, class sizes, teacher and staff information, curriculum and instruction descriptions, fiscal and expenditure data.
